  • Which organization(s) is/are conducting EduOlympiad?

    EduOlympiad is being conducted by EducompOnline, a part of Educomp Solutions Ltd - India's largest education company.
  • Who is eligible to participate in EduOlympiad?

    All school students currently studying in classes 4th to class 12th are eligible to participate in EduOlympiad subject to their age being between 6 years to 20 years as on 1st Dec, 2011 (both ages included).

    To be eligible to participate in this Contest, participant must be a resident of India currently residing in India.

    Apart from these, every participant should have access to a mobile number that they will input during the registration process, which will be the medium for all communication from Educomp to the participant for the purposes of EduOlympiad. Read more here
  • Can students from non-formal schools also participate in EduOlympiad?

    Yes, anybody fulfilling the eligibility criteria can participate in EduOlympiad
  • Is there a participation fee for EduOlympiad? How much?

    Yes, there is a one-time registration fee for participation in EduOlympiad of Rs. 100 per subject per student. A student who participates in both the subjects will therefore have to pay Rs. 200.
  • I study between class 4th to 12th but do not meet the eligibility as per the age criteria. Can I still participate?

    Anybody who does not meet all the eligibility criteria is not eligible to participate. In case he/she does participate, his/her candidature can be cancelled at any stage and all prizes/gifts will be forfeited. There will be no refund of the participation fees under any circumstances.
  • I do not own a Mobile number, can I still participate?

    Having a mobile number is vital, as all the communication regarding the EduOlympiad will be sent to this mobile number. However, this mobile number need not be of your own, it could belong to your parents, friends, siblings, or any other acquaintance. Only ensure that you have access to the number whenever you receive any communication about the EduOlympiad.
  • What are modes of registering/paying the fees?

    You could pay the fees and register either offline or online. Pay the requisite fees offline at your nearest Tata Docomo retail outlet or pay it online using Credit Card/Debit Card. Either ways, once you pay your fees, you will receive a unique PIN number on your registered mobile number.
  • What are the different rounds/levels?

    The result of the IVR round will ideally be announced within 2 weeks after the conclusion of the round. The exact result timelines will be updated on this website, as the event progresses. Successful participants will also receive communication about their results once the results are announced.
  • What prizes are at stake?

  • How will the prizes be delivered to me?

    The prizes will be couriered to the winners through a reputed courier company. The status of the same will also be updated on the website for the winner’s reference. In case the prizes are not delivered to the winners within 30 days of the announcement of the final results, participants are advised to contact the Edu Olympiad team.
  • Why am I not receiving any SMSes from Educomp about the EduOlympiad?

    Due to the new TRAI regulations if you are registered with DND, you might not be able to receive SMS notifications from EducompOnline regarding EduOlympiad. To continue receiving updates from EducompOnline, send "STOP" to 1909 to de-register from DND. Please also note that once the rounds or levels are over, the results will only be communicated to successful candidates who have qualified to the next round/level.
  • Can I share the questions that I remember from my test with my friends?

    By participating in EduOlympiad, you have agreed to the clause wherein you are forbidden to share any questions or content that was used for your testing with any third party. In case you do not adhere to the clause, your candidature is liable to be cancelled. Please read the detailed terms & conditions
  • What steps will Educomp take to establish my identity?

    Educomp, at its discretion, will ask for your identity proof at any stage of the EduOlympiad. The acceptable identity proofs are birth certificate, Class 10th pass certificate, school identity card, etc. subject to the condition that they show the student’s Name, Date of Birth, Class and Picture. In case these proofs are not available, other documents like an affidavit/letter from the school stating the student’s credential could also be considered, at Educomp’s discretion.
  • Can I appear for EduOlympiad for practice purpose once and then take the test again?

    Although no special practice is required for the test and the demo tests on the website will help you understand the test format, you are free to participate multiple times. However, the same will entail you paying fees multiple times.
  • Can I take the test even if I know I am not eligible for the same?

    If you are not eligible you are not allowed to take the EduOlympiad. Even if you take the same, you will not be eligible for any prizes, gifts or any form of recognition etc.
  • Are there any terms & conditions for participating in EduOlympiad?

    Yes, your participation in EduOlympiad is construed as an agreement to all the terms & conditions for EduOlympiad by you and your parents. You are advised to read the terms & conditions before registration, and have your parents/guardian read it too.
  • Where can I find out the list of Tata Docomo retailers near me?

  • What do I need to register online?

    You just need your details and a credit card/debit card/net banking account to pay the fees online. The credit card/debit card/net banking could belong to your parents, guardian, sibling or friend.
  • I have paid the money to the Tata Docomo retailer but am yet to receive my PIN number. What do I do?

    Usually the PIN number is delivered immediately after you register at the Tata Docomo retailer. In case you still do not receive the PIN within 2-3 hours of paying the money, you should speak with the retailer. You could also get your PIN number resent from the customer care number 09243419000 by providing your registered mobile number. Also, ensure that your mobile number is not registered with DND preventing delivery of SMSes.
  • I have paid the money online but am yet to receive my PIN number. What do I do?

    Usually the PIN number is delivered immediately after you register at the EduOlympiad site. In case you still do not receive the PIN within 2-3 hours of the payment you could call the customer care number 09243419000 and provide your registered mobile number. Also, ensure that your mobile number is not registered with DND preventing delivery of SMSes.
  • I am trying to register using the PIN number sent to me, but am not able to. What do I do?

      Please check the following:
    • 1. The PIN number you are inputting in the IVR is correct
    • 2. The Date of Birth being entered in the IVR is in the correct format
    • For any other error, please speak at our customer care number 09243419000
  • The mobile number I used while registering is not working anymore. How will it affect my candidature?

    Every participant should have access to a mobile number that they will input during the registration process, which will be the medium for all communication from Educomp to the participant for the purposes of EduOlympiad. In case, the mobile number does not work, you will miss the registration and test details being sent to you. That effectively will mean that you will not be able to take your candidature forward. So, please use a mobile number which will work without any interruption to make the process absolutely smooth for you.
  • I am trying to register by calling the number provided, but it is constantly busy. What do I do?

    The only way to register after you get your PIN number is through the IVR number. We will take all steps to ensure that the call traffic is managed appropriately for your convenience and you don’t have to try again and again to connect with the number.
  • Which class/category am I eligible to appear in?

    All school students currently studying in classes 4th to class 12th are eligible to participate in EduOlympiad subject to their age being between 6 years to 20 years as on 1st Dec, 2011 (both ages included). You could appear in the class/category that you are enrolled in as of 1st Dec, 2011
  • Do I need to register separately for participating in the two subjects- Science & Math?

    Yes, you will have to pay Rs. 100 for each subject. Although the process will remain the same, the actual registration will happen twice. So, you will have to get two PIN numbers, by paying Rs. 100 each for each subject. While registering, you need to input Math as your choice for one of the PIN numbers and Science as your choice for the other PIN number. You will receive two SMSes informing about the test slots for math as well as science test.
  • If I register for the two subjects using the same mobile number, will I get two PIN numbers for the tests?

    Yes, Although the process will remain the same, the actual registration will happen twice. So, you will have to get two PIN numbers, by paying Rs. 100 each for each subject. While registering, you need to input Math as your choice for one of the PIN numbers and Science as your choice for the other PIN number. You will receive two SMSes informing about the test slots for math as well science test.
  • Both me and my sibling used the same mobile number to register for the EduOlympiad? We got two PIN numbers but can not figure out which PIN number is for whom. What do we do now?

    The PIN numbers are on their own not assigned to a person or test. Once you receive the PIN number and call the IVR number to register, you input the Date of Birth, and subject of choice, and this is when the PIN number gets attached with a specific Date of Birth and subject. In this case, either of you could use any of the PIN numbers for registration. Once the registration is complete, the identity becomes separate.
  • Will I get an Admit Card or document to take the test?

    No, you will get no physical letter, document or admit card for any stages of the EduOlympiad
  • Are there any special provisions for Differently abled candidates?

    Keeping in mind the nature of the event, there are no special provisions for the differently abled. However, we welcome them to participate in the EduOlympiad, subject to being eligible for the same.
  • If I have made any mistake(s) in my details while registering for the EduOlympiad, can I make changes later to rectify the same?

    No, you would not be able to make any changes, so please be very careful about filling in your details at all stages.
  • Can I cancel my participation for the EduOlympiad?

    In case you do not wish to participate in EduOlympiad after registration, you may simply not call on the dates assigned to you.
  • If I register but do not take the test, will my fee be refunded?

    No, once you have paid the fees, it will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • In case I got my PIN after paying the fee but missed registering in the registration window, can I still register myself?

    Registrations won’t be allowed after the mentioned end-date.
  • I paid my participation fees at my school that did a group registration. I am yet to receive my PIN number. What do I do?

    In case your school has sent your details and the registration has been done, you have two options. You could either call the customer care number 09243419000 and provide your Name, DOB, Mobile number etc. to get your PIN number resent or you could contact the teacher in charge at your school, who would have also received the PIN numbers on an e-mail, and could share your PIN number with you.
  • What is the language of testing & communication for EduOlympiad? Do I have an option to switch to another language I am more comfortable with?

    The only available language for testing & communication for EduOlympiad is English and all participants have to take the test in English only.
  • What are the timings when I can call the customer service number 09243419000?

    The customer service is available 24*7 for answering your queries.
  • Whom should I contact in case I face any problems regarding registration?

    You could call the customer service at 09243419000 or fill in your query at contact us section or write to eol@educomp.com. Please note that calls to the said number are not toll-free and will be charged as per your service provider’s call plan for you.
  • How many PIN numbers can be received on one mobile no.?

    One mobile can be used for as many registrations, and generating as many Unique PIN numbers.
    The candidate should also keep the transaction ID(s) generated handy with him at all times for future reference.
  • Can the Customer Care resend my IPIN number on any mobile number or only on the mobile number through which I had registered?

    The PIN can only be pushed to the mobile number that was used for registration initially by a candidate.
  • If I am a TATA customer how can I subscribe without visiting any retailer?

    No, he/she would need to visit the nearest retail outlet to register for the Olympiad. He/She can also register Online by visiting www.educomponline.com

  • Round 1 or IVR enabled round
  • What exactly is an IVR enabled round?

    Interactive voice response or IVR is a technology that allows callers to interact with a computer program or application through the use of voice and DTMF keypad inputs. In the context of EduOlympiad, it simply is a number that you will need to call, authenticate yourself and the automated system will serve you questions, which you can answer by using your phone keypad.
  • Can I schedule the time slot for my test myself or the slot will be assigned automatically?

    You will be provided a date & time by which you can take the test. You do not have the option to chose the date & time yourself.
  • Do I need to take the test from the same mobile number that I registered from initially?

    No, after you register from a specific mobile number, you can take the test from any landline or mobile number. The mobile number will just remain a medium of communication to you for anything related to the EduOlympiad.
  • I will not be able to take the IVR round according to the time slot shared with me over an SMS. Can I reschedule the date?

    You will be provided with a broad timeline of about 24 hours to take the test. Once the date & time slot is provided to you, it will not be able to be rescheduled. In case you still wish to participate, you will need to pay the fees again and register to get a new PIN number.
  • What are some things that I should keep in mind before taking the IVR test?

      Although, you will be provided a list of instructions for the test, before the test too, do keep these points in mind:
    • Please choose a quiet place with ample network for your phone, to take the test
    • Keep some rough sheets and a pen/pencil handy for calculations, if any
    • The total time for the test will be 15 minutes, including the time to listen to the instructions
    • The instructions can not be skipped
    • There will be 5 or 7 questions in total, depending on your class
    • Each question will be followed by four or two choices, and you need to input the answer you feel is correct using your phone keypad
    • Questions can be skipped
    • The call will end, either when you have answered all the questions or the time allotted for the test is over
    • In case the call is disconnected in between the test, you can call the number again and your test will be started from the same remaining time point
    • Once you complete the test, an acknowledgement will be sent to the mobile number you had registered from
  • Will an actual person read out the questions to me or will it be automated?

    The questions will be served through an automated system, when you call on the number
  • How do I input my answers?

    Simply press the key on your phone for whatever you feel is the correct answer. E.g. if you feel the correct answer is choice 3, simply press 3 on your phone’s keypad
  • What is the time limit for the test?

    15 minutes
  • Will there be a time limit for individual questions also?

    No
  • How many and what kind of questions will I get?

    The number of questions will depend on your class. For classes 4-7, there will be 5 questions and for classes 8-12, there will be 7 questions. The questions will be of different difficulty levels.
  • Are there any sample papers available for reference?

    You could view the demo tests uploaded on our website to gain an idea about the format and type of questions that will be asked.
  • Can I repeat/skip questions?

    Yes, you can repeat as well as skip questions.
  • Will I be able to reattempt questions?

    Yes, you can come back to unattempted questions.
  • What if my call gets disconnected in-between the test?

    You can call back again and your test will re-start from the ‘remaining time’ that you had left it at. E.g. if you had used 5 minutes of your time for attempting 2 questions and were listening to the third question, and your phone get disconnected; then when you call again, you will hear the third question again and will have 10 minutes remaining.
  • How many attempts do I have to take the test?

    There is no limit on the number of attempts but just the total time limit of 15 minutes.
  • Will I be told about my correct attempts at the end of the test?

    No, you will not be told about your correct attempts at the end of the test
  • How and when will I be informed about my success to move to the next round?

    You will be informed about the details for the next round, if you qualify for the same. The communication can be expected within a fortnight of the end of the IVR round for everybody. You can also know the status online.
  • I haven’t got any SMS about my result but my friend has. What does that mean?

    This either means that you have not qualified for the next round and your friend has or else it could mean that we had sent you a message, but the same was not delivered to you. You can also know the status online.
  • Whom should I contact in case I face any problems regarding the IVR round?

  • What are the call charges for dialling on the IVR customer care numbers?

    Call charges as per your STD plan will be applicable for calling on these two numbers.
  • Do I need to be a Tata customer to participate?

    No. Anybody can participate in the EduOlympiad subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
  • What is the number to be called on for registration and test taking?

    For both registration and test taking you need to call on 09243419000.
  • Can I reschedule my test?

    No, rescheduling is not possible.

  • Final Round or on-the-ground round
  • What exactly is the on-the-ground round?

    The on-the-ground round is the final phase of EduOlympiad. Students who have cleared round 1 or the IVR round are eligible to participate in the on-the-ground round. This round will basically comprise a written test on a scheduled date and time at a pre-communicated venue.
  • What will happen after I qualify for the Final Round?

    After you qualify for the final round, an SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number. The qualified candidates will need to visit our website- www.educomponline.com and fill in a form with the student information and some required details. Once all the students have filled the form, Educomp will assign the final venue and date for every student and the same will be communicated to the student.
  • Can I schedule the date/time slot for my test myself or the slot will be assigned automatically?

    The slot and the venue will be assigned by Educomp based on the two venue preferences given by the students.
  • I will not be able to take the final round according to the date and time slot shared with me. Can I reschedule the same?

    No, as the test will be conducted on a single day, rescheduling is absolutely not possible.
  • How will my test venue be allocated?

    While filling the form, the qualified candidate will fill in two venue preferences. Based on feasible number of students at each venue, Educomp will try to assign the first preference of venue to the qualified candidates. In case the number of students interested in a particular venue is less than feasible, the candidate will be provided the second preference of venue. Please note that Educomp reserves the right to provide a third venue at their own discretion.
  • Will I need to arrange my own travel, boarding and lodging, in case I have to go to a different city for taking the final round?

    Yes, the travel, boarding and lodging arrangements, if any, will have to be taken care of by the student and Educomp will not reimburse the students for such arrangements. Educomp will however try to assign the nearest location according to the student preference.
  • What if my details in EduOlympiad records do not match with my original documents?

    Please ensure beforehand that all your records with us match exactly with your original documents. In case there are any differences, it could lead to cancellation of your candidature. In case you wish to get any wrong details changed in our records, please mail us at eol@educomp.com.
  • What proof of identity and Date of Birth do I need to bring to the test venue?

    You could bring one of these:
    • Your Class 10th passing certificate/mark sheet carrying your picture and mentioning your Name and DOB
    • Your school identity card carrying your picture and mentioning your Name and DOB
    • A letter from the school principal mentioning you as a bonafide student of the school and mentioning your DOB as per school records. The same should be accompanied with your photograph attested by the school principal
  • What will be the timings for the final round?

    The test for all classes will be held on a single day. There will be two shifts of test. One for Science and one for Math. The exact timings will be communicated at a later stage and will be updated on the website as well.
  • What will be the test structure for the Final Round?

    The final round will have objective type questions. There will be no negative marking. The exact test time, number of questions and other instructions for the test will be mentioned on the test paper itself.
  • Will there be negative marking for the final round?

    No, there will be no negative marking.
  • How do I input my answers?

    You will need to enter the answers in an OMR sheet provided to you. The invigilator will also help you understand how to mark the answers in the OMR sheet.
  • What is the time limit for the test?

    The exact time limit and other details for the test will be shared at the venue.
  • I have qualified for both Science and Math tests. What will be the timings and test procedure for me?

    Math and Science tests will be conducted in two shifts (morning and afternoon) on the same day. If you have qualified for both Math and Science test, it means you will have to take a test in both the shifts.
  • Will there be a time limit for individual questions also?

    No, there will be no time limit for individual questions.
  • What will be the syllabus for the test?

    The test will be for the class that you had registered for (the class you were studying in as of 1st Dec, 2011). The syllabus will be the same as the first round. To check the syllabus, click here.
  • How and when will I be informed about my performance?

    The final winners will be informed on their registered mobile number and e-mail id. The names of the final winners will also be published on the website. Educomp will not share the specific performance details of any candidate.
  • Whom should I contact in case I have any queries or face any problems regarding the final round?

* Please note that due to the requests from various contestants about unavailability of internet in remote locations, and keeping in mind the upcoming exams in March, 2012, Educomp has decided to cancel the Round 2 (Online round). All the students who qualify in Round 1 (IVR round) will now move to the final round (on-the-ground round).
